Just like an alchemist attempts to purify and mature certain materials in creating a universal solvent, Illinois finest representative of underworld electronic scene Phil Stone sits together 60 minutes of dawn state, early morning manifestations for Orila.

"When i went to pull songs for this mix I had in mind that it would hopefully have two different, but cohesive feelings on each side and that it would play out as one continuous mix if you had a proper tape player or car stereo that just switches to flip sides automatically - or even if you had to flip it that it wouldn't take anything away".

An early alchemical text "A Letter to a Friend" written in 1656 familiarly reads "that the first day should make the last, that the Tail of the Snake should return into its Mouth precisely at that time, and they should wind up upon the day of their Nativity, is indeed a remarkable Coincidence"...

"So Side a is very spacey and ambient, while Side b is experimental and rhythmically diverse but comes together as one somehow. Very happy with how it turned out, this being my first venture for this format, hope those tuning in enjoy it".

Coming from the outskirts of Chicago, Stone had an early exposure as a teenager to the Midwestern rave scene and those experiences along with getting into the vinyl culture at an early age influenced him to explore deeper. He made a name for himself by opening for artists from all over the world in key downtown clubs and underground venues, as well as many after-hour parties. While trying not to take things too seriously, his focus has and always will be on the basics of getting people moving and connecting through music.
